On October 15th and 16th 2020, about 30 PhD students of the BIGS Neuroscience gathered for this year’s student symposium. Unlike in previous years, the event took place virtually via Zoom due to the Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, a vivid scientific exchange between the participants developed during the talks and two poster sessions. Two keynote lectures by Dr. Giuseppe Caruso and Dr. Andreas Ritzau-Jost provided inspiring perspectives on current Neuroscience research. The program was further enriched by a guest speaker talk on the topic „From academia to industry: a journey across proteins“ by Dr. Mariano Maffei.
Bhuvaneswari Nagarajan was honored with the BIGS Neuroscience Thesis Award for the best doctoral thesis of 2019.
Congratulations to the winner and many thanks to all who contributed to the event! We are looking forward to next year’s retreat and hope to see you soon again face-to-face!
