Good Scientific Practise
The one-day course on Good Scientific Practice based on the DFG-Memorandum “Proposals for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice” has to be attended by every PhD student in the first year of their doctoral thesis.
The course focuses on the perspectives of doctoral researchers from Life Sciences by introducing and discussing the following topics:
– Introduction into ethics and good scientific practice
– Basic rules of good scientific practice
– Specific issues (e.g. safeguarding and storing of primary data, privacy and
data protection, authorship, cooperation with partners)

– Procedure when scientific misconduct is suspected
– Ethical aspects of research methods
– Case studies
– Case studies
