Workshop in Microscopy and Quantitative Histology in 2017

University of Bonn and the Bonn International Graduate Studies (BIGS) Program

The goal of this workshop is to combine formalized lectures on the principles of microscopy and quantitative histology (stereology) with practical sessions on the use of confocal microscopes and post-acquisition analysis.  Upon completing this short course, participants should be able to efficiently operate their research instruments, obtain optimal image resolution and quality, and understand the design of a quantitative stereological study.

The participants are expected to be primarily doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. Registration is required (see below) but there is no cost to attend. Enrollment in the lectures is open to all PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. Registration in the practical sessions is limited to 20 participants. A brief Statement of Interest will be used to select the Practicum participants, with preference given to graduate students.

25-29 September, 2017

No-Cost for Registration
